Cyberpunk 2077 will have at least as much DLC as The Witcher 3

Cyberpunk 2077

The Witcher 3 is a great game, but it’s also fondly remembered for its fantastic DLC rollout, which included tons of free content and a pair of massive expansions. Developer CD Projekt Red has already hinted at Cyberpunk 2077 DLC plans in the past when it confirmed the eventual multiplayer release, and now the studio have confirmed that upcoming RPG will have as much post-launch content as its predecessor.

Cyberpunk 2077 will have “no less DLC than The Witcher 3 had”, CD Projekt chief Adam Kiciński tells investors in a recent Q&A, translated by VGC. Further details on this DLC will come in “a similar scenario to The Witcher 3”, where smaller packs were revealed a few months ahead of launch, and expansions were revealed just a couple of weeks beforehand.

The Witcher 3’s DLC included a host of free content in the weeks following release, including new quests, alternate costumes for many characters, additional weapons and armour, a New Game Plus mode, and, of course, extra gwent cards.

But the most notable additions were the two paid expansions, Blood and Wind and Hearts of Stone, each of which added massive new stories with new areas to explore and quests to undertake.

The Cyberpunk 2077 release date is set for September 17, 2020, and CD Projekt also said during this week’s financial report that there are no plans for further delays, despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
